Dr. Bola Afolabi, President, CIPS & General Manager SAP Project,
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
Dr Bola Afolabi was appointed the CIPS President in 2008, the first non-European to occupy the position. He is general manager and project director leading the SAP implementation at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Africa’s largest oil and gas corporation. Dr Afolabi spent over 23 years with Shell International Oil & Gas where he worked in many senior Supply Chain positions in Africa, Europe and America. He has a Ph.D. in Regional Development & Environmental Science and has ever worked as a Supply Chain practitioner in addition to continuous development through academic research and teaching.

Jonathan Dutton, Managing Director, CIPS Australia
Jonathan Dutton has been Managing Director of CIPS Australia since late 2004. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a freelance consultant and interim manager - which included 18 months as COO of the Chartered Institute of Marketing [CIM] in the UK. Previously, he was marketing director of two UK public companies, Regus and Chubb. Before that he spent two years in sales at Qantas in Sydney and 10 years at British Airways in London as IT procurement manager and, latterly, as head of corporate sales. He is an economics graduate, completed MCIPS in 1986 and became a Fellow this year. He is also a Fellow of the CIM and Royal Society of the Arts [RSA] in the UK, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

David Gardiner, Managing Director Consulting, The Portland Group
David Gardiner is ANZ Consulting MD for the Portland Group. Dave joined Portland Group in 2002 and since then has led procurement improvement programmes with a number of large manufacturing and retail organisations. He started his career as an engineer with Shell Exploration & Production and thereafter enjoyed a seven-year career with Mars Europe. Dave held numerous change management roles in supply chain driving cross-cultural business unit initiatives (eg. supplier integration).

David Gillard, Commercial and Procurement Director, BAE Systems Australia
David Gillard is director commercial and procurement at BAE Systems Australia. He joined British Aerospace in 1996, and was later seconded to the UK where held a number of senior finance roles before returning to Australia at the end 2000. His management responsibilities include the commercial, procurement, estimating and pricing for the Australian business. David holds a bachelor of business degree in Accountancy and is a member of the Australian Society of Accountants.
Dan Hanyzewski, Managing Partner, West Shore Partners LLC/Redmitten.com
Dan Hanyzewski is managing partner of West Shore Partners LLC / Redmitten.com, a niche consulting firm focused on delivering high-end solutions to a range of human resources clients. He is currently engaged by Kelly Services to help Kelly’s Outsourcing and Consulting Group build additional capabilities in employment branding, recruitment strategy, and contingent workforce management. Educated at Illinois Wesleyan University, Dan holds a BFA, and has over 29 years of Talent Acquisition and HR experience.
Graham Hubbard, Professor of Strategic Management - School of Business, University of Adelaide
Graham Hubbard is Professor of Strategic Management of the School of Business at the University of Adelaide. Previously he was Head of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Adelaide, Professor of Strategic Management at Mt Eliza Business School and Head of the Marketing Group at RMIT University. He has also taught at Monash, Melbourne, Deakin and Swinburne Universities in Australia, Cranfield School of Management in the UK and the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He has also worked for Alcoa of Australia, Corporate Adviser and Coopers and Lybrand in the UK. His research interests are in understanding the nature of ‘successful’ organisations, organisational performance measurement, sustainability and organisational strategy, corporate diversification and mergers and acquisitions.

Renee Klimczak, Chief Procurement Officer, BHP Billiton
Renee Klimczak became Chief Procurement Officer of BHP Billiton in August 2009. Prior to this, Renee was the President, Gas Marketing for BHP Billiton Petroleum from Oct 2007 and was responsible for monetizing and managing sales of BHP Billiton’s equity natural gas, ethane and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Renee joined the Company in 2005 to lead the development of the gas business in North, South and Central America. Prior to joining BHP Billiton, she was General Manager of gas and electricity retailing in Melbourne, Victoria; first with Ikon Energy and then with TXU Australia. Renee began her career with Exxon where she spent 14 years in a number of areas across the downstream sector of the company, including senior commercial and marketing roles.
Renee is a graduate of Louisiana State University where she completed both a Bachelors of Science degree in Quantative Business Analysis and a Masters of Business degree.

David Noble, CEO, CIPS
David Noble was appointed CEO of CIPS in May 2009. He has been a CIPS member since 1982 and a Fellow since 1994. He served for four years as a member of the CIPS Fellowship Selection Panel before being appointed to the Board in 2008. Alongside his role within CIPS’ governance, David has 30 years corporate experience including the last 10 years at Board level in P&SM, most recently as Group Supply Chain Director at IMI plc, a FTSE 250 company.

Chris Richardson, Director, Access Economics
Chris Richardson is the Director of Access Economics and is widely recognised as one of Australia’s best known economists. Prior to joining Access Economics in 1988, Chris worked at the Federal Treasury and at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) where he was responsible for advising countries in the former Soviet Union and South America. Chris writes regularly for the Fundamentals column for one of Australia’s most authoritative and popular business publications, BRW.

David Smith, Commercial Director, Department for Work and Pensions
David Smith is the commercial director for the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions, the biggest Central Government Department, and is accountable for its overall procurement spend of in excess of £4 billion per year. He has specialised in procurement and commercial matters in the Public Sector for nearly 25 years. Before moving to DWP, he was Head of Procurement for the Inland Revenue and has previously held senior commercial posts in the Home Office and HM Treasury’s Central Unit on Procurement (now OGC). He is a past member of the CIPS Board of Management and the CIPS Council and was made a Companion of the Most Honourable Order of Bath (CB) in the Queen’s New Year Honours 2009.

John Stanhope, Chief Financial Officer and Group Managing Director Finance and Administration, Telstra
John Stanhope was appointed to the role of chief financial officer and group managing director, finance & administration in October 2003. He was appointed as an executive director of the Telstra Board in May 2009. He is responsible for finance; treasury; risk management and assurance; corporate planning, reporting and analysis; business services; investor relations; corporate security and investigations, the Office of the Company Secretary, procurement, billing and business improvement and analysis. John also managed Telstra's involvement in the Federal Government's T3 sale of Telstra shares. He previously served as director, finance. Since joining Telstra in 1967, John has held a number of operational roles and more recently a range of senior financial management positions including general manager, strategy and finance - special business products; general manager, finance and business planning - network products; and executive general manager - business support services. He is chairman of the Business Coalition for Tax Reform, and was appointed to the Financial Reporting Council in 2006. He serves on the executive committee of the Group of 100.
