Anne-Maree Huxley, CEO, MOSS

Anne-Maree is a key driver of Sustainability in Australia as founder and CEO of Models of Success & Sustainability (MOSS) the industry body for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. MOSS supports business through education, training, networking and advice to drive sustainability and competitive business success. She was one of the first 150 people trained by Al Gore around the world as a Climate Leader.
 
She is also a Director of the Carbon Trade Exchange (which will provide the world’s first end to end electronic processes for Carbon Credits), the One at a Time Foundation and Chair of The Live n Learn Foundation. Anne-Maree is passionate about making a difference in the world. She speaks regularly about leadership, climate change and responsible business – and aims to assist business, government and community work collaboratively to address the complex issues of our time, with a vision and purpose that addresses sustainable development. Anne-Maree hosted the largest business delegation to COP 15 in Copenhagen in December and will share world best practice and insights into what makes a leading sustainable business in a low carbon economy in particular Leadership and the Sustainable Procurement Agenda.
 
Trevor Barrows, Principal Consultant, EcoView
 
Trevor’s primary role is to grow best business practices in Australia by aligning product and services strategic direction to both established and emerging sustainable supply chain management initiatives.
 
Trevor has been a catalyst for communicating sustainable carbon management awareness in Australian Industry and focusing thought leadership to companies on both legislative and emerging innovation in carbon accounting and abatement policy. He is heavily involved in research projects on carbon emission reduction in supply chains across all major industry sectors. This explores the in-depth case for reducing GHG emissions using innovative solutions to reduce operational costs and increases asset performance whilst balancing resource, social and environmental constraints.
 
He has a Post Graduate Masters in Marketing & Logistics (Monash) and has a thorough understanding of managing the financially sustainable delivery of business solutions that includes the dimension of ‘Carbon’ based on over 20 years’ commercial experience in the Asia Pacific region
 
Hugh Wareham, CEO, Ecobuy
 
ECO-Buy was established in 2000 as a local government buy recycled program. It is now a not for profit organisation with the purpose of increasing the demand for and use of environmentally preferable products, and has been described as Australia’s leading environmental purchasing program. Its membership includes 75% of Victorian local government and a number of large businesses including Toyota, Origin Energy and Cadbury Schweppes. Hugh’s last role was as Director and deputy to Victoria’s Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability. 
 
Vivienne Buss, Manager - Sustainable Procurement in the Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office.
 
Vivienne’s began her professional life as a Chartered Accountant, and from there moved into business consulting more broadly, working for two “Big Four” firms – KPMG and Deloitte in their business consulting divisions, as well for publicly listed organizations and her own consulting business. Her work during this time focused on ensuring alignment between high level strategic objectives, business design and supporting financial business processes. Vivienne’s roles were improvement and change focused as she acted as change advocate, seeking to challenge the “traditional way of doing things”.
 
This theme continued as she deepened her professional expertise in environmental management, completing an MBA in Corporate Environmental Management and a Masters in Environmental Management - Economics and Policy. More recently Vivienne has worked with businesses as they seek to find pragmatic solutions to the challenges of sustainability.
 
Currently in her role, she is leading Queensland Government’s sustainable procurement program – which seeks to integrate sustainability considerations across Queensland Government spend.
 
Vivienne also sits on the faculty of the Graduate School at the Australian Institute of Management.
 
Suzanne Little B.Sc. MSc. Dip.Ed.
 
Suzanne Little is a sustainability scientist and writer. Her directorships are with the Board of Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority and with the Board of Good Environmental Choice Australia.
 
Suzanne introduced the first training course for sustainable procurement into Australia in 2007 and delivers it nationally to the procurement profession. This has been well received by more than 250 professionals under the auspices of CIPSA (the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Australia & New Zealand). Suzanne utilised the outcomes from her courses to give evidence to the NSW Parliamentary Hearing into Sustainable Procurement in 2009. The Inquiry recommeneded that the public service revise its policy to improve government implementation of sustainable procurement.
 
Throughout her career, Suzanne has been a pioneer of the environmental profession in business. She was the environment director for Sydney’s Olympic Games and the environmental manager of three of Australia’s major corporations; SAI Global, AGL and Vodafone Australia. Her other environmental roles were with the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand; AECOM-Maunsell; Sydney Water, the Electricity Commission of NSW and two universities. 
 
Janet Pursehouse, National Merchandising Manager, Corporate Express
 
Janet has over 16 years experience in strategic procurement and sourcing within a number of blue chip companies, government and consultancy firms. She has managed procurement projects ranging from complex supplier sourcing initiatives through to development and implementation of company-wide procurement strategies and frameworks.
In her current role with Corporate Express she manages teams responsible for sourcing and merchandising of several product categories, as well as global sourcing. She also manages the Corporate Express ethical sourcing programme, and the environmentally preferable products programme. Janet holds a Bachelor of Science degree.
