Special Offer on Special Interest Forums

CIPSA Conferences to help procurement community to engage with internal stakeholders

In discussions with key stakeholders and potential delegates for the upcoming CIPSA Conferences Special Interest Forums on Low Cost Country Sourcing and Outsourcing Procurement, it has become apparent that these issues are not solely the domain of the traditional CIPSA Conferences audience. There are other key stakeholders who have input into decisions made in these areas.

In order to assist it’s traditional procurement audience to engage and win over those other internal stakeholders, CIPSA Conferences have decided to offer a special “Bring a Colleague” deal on the aforementioned conferences.

For the Outsourcing Procurement Conference, you may want to encourage your CFO to attend, so that they can learn more about how, working with the procurement department, they can ramp up capability faster and more effectively, by outsourcing selected non-essential supply lines. Your CFO would no doubt also be interested to hear first-hand how to make the business case, measure the benefits and demonstrate real bottom-line savings.

For the Low Cost Country Sourcing Conference, the outside stakeholders are not so self-evident. CIPSA Conferences research indicates that they may be in manufacturing, operations, finance or other areas of the business. However, the issue remains the same. They have a stake in decisions relating to sourcing of goods or services from low cost countries. Attendance at the LCCS Conference will assist them to understand the issues better, thereby improving communication and understanding with the procurement department.

The qualification for this special offer is that the “Colleague” must not be a practising procurement professional and must be from the same organisation as the procurement delegate.

Speaking about the offer, Nigel Wardropper, Event Director for CIPSA Conferences said, “We are always hearing that one of the biggest issues facing the procurement profession is engaging with internal stakeholders. Where appropriate, CIPSA Conferences will continue to seek to identify opportunities to assist the procurement profession to improve engagement with their internal stakeholders, by allowing them to attend relevant events to gain a better understanding of the issues that their procurement colleagues face. Obviously this will not be applicable to all events, but particularly with the Special Interest Forums programme, we may well see other events that lend themselves to this kind of initiative.”
