Scott Alden,
Partner, DLA Piper
 
Scott is a Partner in the Finance and Projects team of DLA Piper and is a recognised expert in relation to all aspects of tendering and procurement, project planning and front end project documentation and negotiation. Scott regularly contributes to industry and legal journals and publications and gives papers at projects and procurement conferences. Scott has practised in both the private and public sector in relation to large strategic projects and infrastructure projects as well as advising clients generally in relation to commercial issues, legislative interpretation and procurement and probity. Scott is well recognised for his work on complex infrastructure projects and his clients a wide range of government bodies at every level and top tier contractors and general commercial entities including a wide range of Universities. Scott’s experience includes acting on some major projects including D&C, BOOT schemes, PPPs and ECI contracts. Scott has also benefitted from long term secondments as Acting Procurement Manager at both the Sydney Catchment Authority and State Transit Authority.
 
Scott is a member of the NSW Law Society Business Law Committee, the Law Council’s Building and Construction Committee, the Society of Construction Law and the National Association of Women in Construction, and has been a member of the NSW Law Society Ethics Committee and President of NSW Young Lawyers.
 
Alan Findlater
Managing Director – Management, Donald Cant Watts Cork (DCWC)
 
Alan has over 25 years experience in major complex multi-stakeholder projects in Australia and overseas. He offers clients extensive expertise in professional project management, industry based design and construction, and procurement methodologies that include PPP, alliance and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contracts.
 
Alan's background at DCWC, Lend Lease, Bovis Lend Lease and Leighton Contractors equips him with a balance of skills and experience to ensure effective overall leadership of major complex multi-stakeholder projects.

Denis Henry MCIPS
Director, Grosvenor Management Consulting
 
Denis Henry is a director of Grosvenor Management Consulting, one of Australia’s leading procurement advisories.
 
Denis commenced his professional career in Auckland in 1980 as an engineer then General Manager for a major international process engineering equipment manufacturer.
 
Since establishing Grosvenor in 1996, Denis has been extensively involved in market testing of numerous services in both the public and private sectors.
 
Denis has been responsible for the full range of procurement and contracting activities for in excess of 100 complex involving annual spends of $350m.
 
Recently he assisted the Department of Defence to develop and launch a ground breaking Industry Engagement Charter bringing collaboration and innovation to contract spends in excess of $4.5B per annum.
 
Denis developed the majority of the training materials for CIPS Australasia and in 2010 he was retained as a key facilitator in the NZ Government’s procurement capability development programme.
In 2009 and 2010 he was a judge of the CIPS Australia Procurement Professional Awards.
 
Darian McBain
Director, Blue Sky Green
 
Darian has a Bachelor of Engineering and a MSc in Business Strategy, Politics and Environment and has worked in the environmental and sustainability arena for over 16 years both in Australia and the UK. She was involved with the UK Government Sustainable Procurement Task Force, has worked for the UN and done work with the Global Reporting Initiative as well as a number of state governments and businesses looking at sustainable procurement , supply chain management and sustainable business strategic development. In her spare time Darian is currently undertaking her PhD at Sydney University looking at developing social indicators for sustainable supply chain management. 
 
Tetyana Wotton
Senior Associate, TressCox Lawyers
 
Tetyana is highly regarded by clients for her expertise on high value and complex projects.
 
As an experienced probity adviser, Tetyana acts on complicated procurement projects for the Commonwealth and State governments and private entities. She provides clients with strategic probity advice, reviews RFT documents, prepares probity plans and probity reports and facilitates probity team meetings. She also assists with tender evaluation plans, tender reports, and contract negotiations.
 
Tetyana is also an experienced public speaker and regularly presents on probity, procurement and contracting issues. As a core member of the TressCox training team, she is often called upon to deliver presentations to a range of government and non-government agencies. She also develops tailored training programs on contract law for a wide range of clients.
 
Aileen Fu
Solicitor, TressCox Lawyers
 
Aileen is a solicitor in the Construction, Infrastructure, Government and Probity Group and has been with TressCox Lawyers since December 2007. Aileen has extensive experience in procurement related matters, specifically in relation to probity obligations at local, state and Commonwealth level for a range of major government entities and authorities, and has acted as both probity adviser and probity auditor.
 
In addition, Aileen has experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts (both for principals and contractors) including in bespoke contracts and contracts based on Standards Australia and Master Builders Australia.
 
She has also advised a range of entities (including councils, government authorities and private contractors) on prospects of success in relation to disputes concerning areas including variations, termination rights and extensions of time claims.
 
Aileen has co-presented on various topics including contract law, managing disputes, problematic contractual clauses and tendering/probity.
 
Gordon Donovan FCIPS
Managing Consultant/Head of Learning & Development

Gordon is a fellow of CIPS and has over 20 years’ experience of buying direct and indirect goods and services in both the public and private sector having worked in local government, health, insurance, media and transport.
 
Gordon’s broad knowledge of procurement’s role within an organisation and the need to engage, negotiate with and manage project stakeholders was gained through a variety of sourcing projects, ranging from travel smartcard evolution, to facilities management, to high value capital equipment.
 
Gordon has significant experience in planning significant negotiations in complex markets ensuring that relationships are improved whilst delivering significant results for the buyer.
 
Gordon’s skills as a trainer and communicator have been developed through designing and delivering procurement and negotiation improvement programmes for organizations all over the world.
 
Gordon has also delivered the CIPSA Procurement training programme as well as delivering the Corporate Award training which allows delegates to become professionally qualified in procurement.
 
Greg Kendall
Managing Director
Contracting & Tendering Services Pty Ltd
 
Greg Kendall is the Managing Director of Contracting and Tendering Services Pty Ltd (CTS) and has held executive positions in a number of organisations in procurement over the past 30 years. Greg has a Bachelor of Business (with Distinction), majoring in materials management, and is a Member of CIPS. Greg’s career includes:
·         Lecturer in the Masters Degree of Project Management; Project Procurement (2001 -2008)
·         Co-author of the Commonwealth’s Contract Management Manual
·         Author ‘Probity Procedures for Competitive Tendering’
·         Provided expert advice in multi-million dollar tender processes
·         Inaugural Regional Chair SA/NT CIPSA.
 
CTS is a management consultancy firm and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) specialising in procurement and contract management. CTS has held long term contracts with organisations where Greg Kendall has been a leading consultant and trainer. Clients include the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB), State Procurement Board (SA), and Department of Finance (WA). CTS also provides specialist procurement advice and probity auditing services throughout Australia. Greg actively participates in large procurement projects as an independent procurement expert, a Steering Committee member, a tender evaluation consultant and a probity auditor or advisor.
