Jonathan Dutton FCIPS, CIPS Australia
Jonathan Dutton has been Managing Director of CIPS Australia since late 2004. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a freelance consultant and interim manager - which included 18 months as COO of the Chartered Institute of Marketing [CIM] in the UK. Previously, he was marketing director of two UK public companies, Regus and Chubb. Before that he spent two years in sales at Qantas in Sydney and 10 years at British Airways in London as IT procurement manager and, latterly, as head of corporate sales. He is an economics graduate, completed MCIPS in 1986 and became a Fellow this year. He is also a Fellow of the CIM and Royal Society of the Arts [RSA] in the UK, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

CHRISTOPHER BROWNE DMS MBA MCIPS, NZ Ministry for Economic Development
Chris has worked in procurement for the last 22 years, starting his career in the British mining industry and has worked in government at a local, agency, national and international level. He has spent most of his career working at the Environment Agency for England and Wales (the largest environmental regulator and flood defence organisation in Europe, employing 13,000 people, spending $1.2bn pa).
At the Environment Agency, he delivered the procurement of a number of high profile and award winning sea/flood defence construction and process engineering projects. He soon joined the national procurement team of the Environment Agency and led the development of the procurement function, which is over 100 procurers in size. He led benchmarking and capability building activities as well as some major procurement projects in cartography and nuclear waste management.
In the early 90’s, he also pioneered environmental and later sustainable procurement practices in the UK, leading to an award from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Due to his successes and practical knowledge, he was asked to join the UK Sustainable Procurement Task Force and co-authored the report to British Prime Minister on how to make the UK amongst the leaders in sustainable procurement in Europe.
Following this, he was asked to join the United Nations Marrakech Taskforce (UN MTF) on Sustainable Public Procurement as a lead technical advisor. He has authored the practical aspects of the sustainable procurement tool of the UN MTF, developed the training material and has delivered this training internationally. He is also a published author, contributing to a book for the UK Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment on Sustainable Procurement and has been published in numerous magazine articles.
In 2008, Chris emigrated to New Zealand to develop sustainable procurement in the New Zealand Government, in that time he has provided training on sustainable procurement to 300 people across New Zealand and Australia.
In 2009, Chris took a new role as a Chief Advisor with the Ministry of Economic Development to develop, project manage and implement the reform of all aspects of Government Procurement across New Zealand. Chris is now project managing the implementation of this programme and selling the change/benefits to agencies and businesses. Chris writes the quarterly reports on the programme to Cabinet and regularly meets with Ministers to drive the change necessary to transform procurement practice across New Zealand.
Chris hold full CIPS membership by examination, he also holds a business studies degree, a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He now lives on the Kapiti Coast (50km north of Wellington) in New Zealand, with his wife Jane and two rescued Greyhounds.
Roger McNeill, Executive Manager Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, Thiess
Roger is an 18 year supply chain veteran. Through his career he has managed the inventory and international logistics for a US based textile company; the inventory build phase of Sprint Telecommunications digital telecoms network and subsequently Sprint’s Strategic Sourcing of network technology. He was recruited to NZ to manage the procurement department of Telecom Mobile and in 2006 emigrated to Australia and headed Quadrem’s procurement services division.
Michael Field, North Shore City Council
Michael Field is a Sustainability Practitioner, with over 10 years experience. He is regarded as one of the leaders in this subject, with over 20 published papers and articles. Michael has previously worked for Interface Inc, as their National Sustainability Manager and Business Development Manager, one of the most highly regarded sustainable companies on the planet. During Michael’s time with Interface, national sales increased by 60% and he was nominated for the ‘Sustainability Champion’ awards and recognised as one of the top ten sustainability champions in the world.
Michael has also worked in the consultancy field with some of the largest corporations and many small businesses, offering advice and technical expertise on sustainable development and management issues, including sustainability framework design, sustainability reporting and verification, green material specification, environmental auditing, green building frameworks, policy development, legislation advice to government and carbon accounting.
Michael is also widely recognised as a leader in the area of sustainable procurement, having designed and developed sustainable procurement assessment toolkits currently in use, which have been recognised by the New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development, in their sustainable procurement guide, as best practice.
Michael has also been heavily involved in public speaking, having been a key note speaker at many international conferences on sustainability related topics, is a regular expert commentator on sustainability for the media and is a guest expert lecturer at Massey University on Corporate Sustainability.
Mark Williamson, DLA Phillips Fox
Mark Williamson has over 10 years experience advising organisations in both the private and public sectors in relation to contracting and procurement. He has advised Manukau City Council and other local authorities on numerous outsourcing arrangements and standard documentation. Other projects include advising eLGAR (libraries for the Greater Auckland Region) in respect of the ‘Smarter Systems’ regional library project and an international airline ground handling company in relation its proposal to provide ground handling services to Air New Zealand.
David Callaghan, PricewaterhouseCoopers
David leads PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Business Solutions group. He has over fifteen years experience in procurement in professional services, property, construction and engineering. Business Solutions manages PwC's Procurement, Events, Facilities, Records, Research and Knowledge Management, and
Resource Management.
The procurement team is responsible for category management, strategic sourcing, and operational management of key outsource contracts.
David is the Chair of the NSW Committee of CIPSA, a Chartered Accountant, and holds Masters Degrees in Accounting, Business Administration and Operations Management.
Dr. Lynda Bourne, Stakeholder Management Pty Ltd
Dr Lynda Bourne DPM, PMP, CMACS is a recognised international authority on stakeholder engagement and the ‘Stakeholder Circle’ visualisation tool. She has worked with organisations in Australia and Europe assisting them to manage change through use of this methodology to understand and manage the relationships essential for successful delivery of organisational outcomes.
Dr Bourne has presented at conferences and seminars in Europe, Russia, Asia, USA, New Zealand and Australia to audiences of managers and project managers in the IT, construction, defence and mining industries. She has published papers in many academic and professional journals and contributed her ideas to books on procurement and construction stakeholder management. Her book: Stakeholder Relationship Management is due for publication August 2009.
She is adjunct assistant Professor at UMUC in the US, teaching Masters level PM courses.
Peter Macfarlane, Director, Grosvenor Management Consulting
Peter Macfarlane is a Director of Grosvenor Management Consulting, a consulting firm which specializes in advice on strategic sourcing and business improvement.

Stephen Rowe FCIPS, Parmalat Australia
Stephen Rowe has 13 years global procurement and supply chain experience, living and working across three continents. Prior to his current role as CPO at Parmalat Australia, Stephen was Regional (APAC) Strategic Sourcing Manager at Cadbury Schweppes. Before that, he was Head of Procurement UK, and then Global Procurement Manager, for Arthur Andersen.
Having worked in the retail and distribution sector for 15 years before his introduction to procurement, Stephen has a rounded view of supply chain principles. Elected to the Rest of The World seat on the CIPS council, his three-year term commences on 1 November 2009.
Andrea Gregory MCIPS, Telecom New Zealand
Andrea is passionate about the value procurement delivers to the organisation and the opportunities that exist for people in procurement. She drives toward delivering outcomes that provide best value for money for her organisation through simple processes, great team work and appropriate relationships with business partners. She has had varied career in a broad range of industries ranging from Research, Construction, FMCG, IT, to Television. For the past 13 years, Andrea has specialised in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing with major New Zealand organisations such as Heinz Wattie, EDS, Television New Zealand and Air New Zealand.
In her current role as the Group Procurement Officer Telecom New Zealand, Andrea leads a team of procurement professionals, responsible for the effective procurement of Telecom’s major spend categories, including Marketing, IT and Network Technology and Corporate. Andrea has initiated a journey to Best Practice Procurement including Category Management, Sourcing and Supplier Management, well as extending the reach of and buy-in to Strategic Procurement across the Telecom Group.
Andrea is a member of the Steering Group guiding CIPSA activities in Australia and NZ.
