The CPO AGENDA 100

Procurement Leadership for the Next Decade

A CIPS invitation-only event for the top 100 CPOs in Australasia to
examine the challenges facing procurement leaders in the next decade

CONNECT * NETWORK * LEARN * PRACTICE

29th – 31st August 2011, RACV Royal Pines, Gold Coast

CIPS have been asked many times to host a senior level event practically addressing the strategic questions facing CPOs today and in future, so we are pleased to have been able to design this CPO AGENDA 100 event to do just that. This two-day interactive workshop event will bring together the highest echelons of the profession throughout the region to network and discuss solutions to the principal issues facing Chief Procurement Officers over the coming decade.

A plenary style introduction and conclusion to the programme will frame nine practical workshops professionally facilitated by top consultants from the leading consultancy firms in procurement – from which CPOs can opt to attend the three most relevant to themselves.

In addition, three sessions on procurement leadership specifically designed for CPOs will be run on behalf of CIPS by Right Management, part of MANPOWER – the global HR company -www.right.com.au

The programme will also allow ample time for CPOs to network together unhindered in the professional but relaxed, low pressure environment of the new RACV Royal Pines complex in the Gold Coast. The informal networking opportunities will include the casual welcome dinner, business breakfast, two casual lunches and a more formal dinner. Sam Walsh AO, Executive director, Rio Tinto and Chief executive, Iron Ore and Australia will open the conference at the business breakfast on the Tuesday morning with a speech entitled "You can't cost cut your way to greatness". The Guest Speaker for the formal dinner will be confirmed shortly.

Given the senior level of the delegates and the participative and interactive nature of the programme, which will be professionally facilitated at all times during the formal sessions of the event, Chatham House Rules will apply for all participants, that is:

“All participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker, nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.” Wikipedia

This event has been staged in response to ongoing demand from CPOs for a high-level, interactive workshop based conference to explore the strategic issues facing the leaders of procurement teams at major Australian and New Zealand organisations.

As such, this invitation-only event is therefore designed to create a comfortable environment for senior level delegates to think through and discuss current issues and challenges commonly facing the procurement profession. As such we regret that invitations are non-transferable on this occasion without the prior agreement of the Institute.

If you are a CPO of a large organisation who has not received a personal invitation to this event and are interested in discovering more about it, then please contact Nigel Wardropper at CIPSA Conferences at nigelw@bttbonline.com
