Why you or your team should attend conferences

Conferences are a hotbed of ideas. Contrary to popular belief, most of these ideas are generated by the delegates, not the presenters. The experience of getting out of the office, out of the daily grind and pressures of your daily role, out of the narrow focus of your own organisations current priorities, clears your mind to think.

Listening to fellow practitioners, consultants or suppliers presenting ideas and experiences stimulates you to develop ideas of your own.  The presenter’s ideas, plus your own ideas, make a third idea which is often better than both!

Engaging with your peers and suppliers during the session breaks opens your eyes to different views and new products or services, all of which have the potential to inspire your own thinking.

At a time when business is crying out for innovative thinking and ways to drive greater productivity, hiding within the thought bubble of your own organisation is not an option.

So whether you are a CPO looking to inspire your team, or a go-ahead procurement professional looking to make your mark, get out of the office, get with the programme, and get inspired!
